Ubisoft Canada Announces Payment Increase in Effort to Keep the Best Talent
Reports suggest that Ubisoft Canadian studios offer their employees a salary increase in an effort to combat many of the top engineers who leave the company to pursue problems.
In a Kotaku report, Ubisoft Canada announced a wage increase for many of its employees. Wage increases are set to take effect as soon as employees receive additional holidays and better parental leave pay.
Ubisoft Canada is responsible for games including Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6 and Watch Dogs Legion. The company has offices in Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto, Chicoutimi, Halifax and Winnipeg.
While it’s over, a pay rise might sound like a good sales force for a company, there’s a catch. Sources told Kotaku that those currently earning the most are seeing significant increases, suggesting that the studio continues to strengthen the inequalities that exist there.
According to the working group, ABetterUbisoft, junior workers experienced an increase of between 5 and 7 percent while the majority of older workers rose 20 percent. "Furthermore, by increasing the pay rise in favor of higher employees, managers are widening the gap between the highest paid and the lowest paid employees," explained ABetterUbisoft at Kotaku.

Mr Bisoft denied the allegations, saying "there will be" other improvements to be made in April "and that" this is the first of many programs we are announcing to offer a competitive employer a donation ".
Ubisoft has had various problems recently. Just last week, AbetterUbisoft, made up of current and former employees, sought public support in the fight for better practices in the company.
Last month, its employees demanded action following news that Activision would meet some of its employees' needs after similar problems of inequality and harassment within the company.
Earlier this year, Ubisoft Singapore was under investigation by a qualified watchdog for alleged sexual harassment and discrimination. At the time, Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot, responded to an open letter from workers demanding change across the industry against harassment and abusive behavior.
In other sports news, Diego Maradona could be removed from FIFA 22 amid a trademark dispute.
Watchdog Detects Misconduct by Afghan Aviation Attack Error
WASHINGTON (AP) - A Pentagon independent review concludes that the American Drone strike that killed innocent civilians of Kabul and children in the last days of the Afghan war has not been the result of misconduct or negligence, nor does it recommend any disciplinary action.
The review, conducted by Air Force Lt. Gen. Sami Said, it was discovered that there was a communication disruption and the process of identifying and confirming that the bomb had been targeted. Sid concluded that the wrong strike had taken place despite effective measures to prevent the deaths.
“I found that based on their knowledge and experience, I understand that they came to the wrong conclusion, but ... Was it reasonable to conclude that what they did was based on what they already had? It was not absurd. It turns out it's not right, ”said Said. He is an Air Force inspector general and is considered independent as he had no direct contact with Afghan operations.
His review said the drone strike should be considered in the current context, as U.S. forces under pressure were full of information about threats of soldiers and civilians at Kabul airport, a few days after a suicide bombing. Thousands of Afghans plundered the airport, trying to leave the country following the Taliban's capture.
Said found that better communication between striking decision makers and other supporters may have created more doubts about the bombing, but in the end it may not have prevented it.
Said has been asked to investigate the August air strike. 29 A white Toyota Corolla, killed by Zemerai Ahmadi, and nine family members, including seven children. Ahmadi, 37, was a longtime employee of an American charity.
Warning about the car and its possible threats emerged just days after the Islamic State suicide bomber killed U.S. troops. 13 and 169 Afghans at the gate of Kabul airport. The US has been working to oust thousands of Americans, Afghans and other allies since the fall of the country's government.
Said concluded that the U.S. Forces strongly believe that the car they were following was very dangerous and they had to hit it before it could approach the airport.
"They all have a true belief based on their knowledge and interpretation, that this was a threat to the American army, a threat closer to the American military," he told reporters during the Pentagon forum. “That is a mistake. It is a regrettable mistake. It is a serious mistake. I understand the consequences, but it is not the crime, the disorder, the negligence. ”
He said repeated reviews of the video from that day showed that it was two minutes before the strike, and there was evidence that a child was on strike.
Said, who claims to have watched the video, said the soldiers in the cell did not see the baby.
"I'm just saying it doesn't seem 100%," he said. “You have to look, not play, look. But if you want it, certainly after the fact, if you ask me, was there any proof of existence? Yes, it was. ”
Steven Kwon, president of Nutrition and Education International, who appointed Ahmadi, said he was "very disappointed" with the review.
"According to the Inspector General, there was a mistake but no one did anything wrong, and I was left wondering, how could that be?" Kwon said in a statement. "Obviously, good military intentions are not enough if the result is that the lives of 10 precious Afghan people have been lost and their reputation tarnished."
